$5000 US for the 1d mark IV, gee. My 40d needs an upgrade but the 7d doesn’t seem to do well in low light. Sure does well in your outdoor shots. I do a lot of indoor weddings and such. That’s also where my 40d doesn’t perform well. The 40d does quite well in the Landscape photography i do. The price of the 1D suggests that the new 1ds will hit the $9000 dollar range? What are your thoughts Ole on the 1d mark IV price dropping when the new 1ds comes out?

These are tact sharp images from the Canon 7D and 70-200 2.8 IS USM L.
Regarding this in particular:

the outlines of the bird seemed to be especially thick. what sharpening setting (in camera) was used, if any? I know on the 5D, the default is 5 and one can go as high as 7.
This think outline seemed to have disappeared when a detailed zoom in version was shown later.

Yes, I usually shoot in raw so I’ll follow your advice about the Auto-WB… ok for the over-expose, some people told me that but I always listen at good advices so thank you!

Hi Angelo

If you shoot in raw-format I will recommend Auto-WB. It will usually be very correct for winter shots. Today it was -37C and I tried to adjust the WB, manually, but ended up with Auto-WB also today.

With bright snow you have to “over-expose” by maybe +1 f-stop, but you might know this already…

great news about the english version of your book, I’m interested too so I hope it will be available soon!
I repost a question I asked days ago, please give me a hint: I’ll leave for Lapland (Finland) in few fays with my 7D and I wish to take the most shots I can, the main question is: how did you set up the WB on your 7D?
I know there’s a lot of snow (and a ‘cool’ weather, almost -30 right now), I’m really interested to know how to set up my 7D and your experience can help me soooo much!!!
