Canon DSLR HD video filming
I have now started to test out different accessories for Canon DSLR HD-Video filmmaking.
I think the video quality in 1080P from Canon 7D and 5D Mark II is very good, but there is some challanges regarding:
1. Smooth and accurate focusing
2. Viewfinder
3. Sound quality
4. Rolling shutter
I will come back with more information about my field tests of different accessories that can improve the HD-video quality for Canon 7D and 5D Mark II

What rig are you using with the camera?
Hello Me XMan & Tom
As Kam says this is a RedRock rig with Follow Focus. I’m testing different equipment for HD-video with Canon 5D Mark II and 7D. I will post some of my reviews on this site.
Hi!
I LOVE the 7D review. Just wondering if the lense you’re using in this video is the EF 70-200 2.8 IS USM?
Cheers, Wasili
Hello Wasili
Good to hear that you liked the 7D review.
The lenses I use in the video is 70-200/2.8 and 300/2.8
May I kindly “bother” you with a question …
I will pick up the 7D tomorrow at the store – yippiieee – but I’ve heard so many opinions about the 70-200/2.8 and a good friend of mine recommended the 70-200/4.0 IS USM due to the lighter weight and of course less €€€. I’m not a pro like you, I just really enjoy photography as a hobby and was really looking forward owning my first L-lense. He said, that it’s only one
aperture value from 2.8 to 4.0 and for the everyday use the f4.0 will totally do the job for me. I DO NOT have any specific things that I’m gonna use it for (i.e. sports, cars, wildlife) ….so…. Your opinion if you don’t mind/have a minute or two?
mange takk,
Wasili
Hi, Wasili
I agree with your friend! Go for the 70-200/4 IS. It is lightweight, sharp and cheaper, and if you don’t need f/2.8 the 4.0 is a very good choice..
THANK YOU!
